I visited the Vision Australia Radio studios in Kooyong on Tuesday morning to record my story ‘A Standard Night’ for the upcoming Cover to Cover special edition featuring work by Elwood Writers. The theme of the edition is ‘Adelaide’.
I wrote ‘A Standard Night’ especially for the program. A friend asked me on Tuesday night what the story’s about. I hadn’t given much thought to describing it, but I told them it’s a fictionalised distillation of some of my Adelaide impressions and experiences. I immediately liked that description – it neatly sums the story up.
The Elwood Writers Cover to Cover special airs over the Easter weekend, on Friday 15 April at 8:00PM, repeated Sunday 17 April at 1:00PM. You can listen on the radio in Australia (times differ from state to state, so check the VAR website for listening info) or online from anywhere in the world. As usual, a recording of the program will be available to download after broadcast.
Many thanks as always to Tim McQueen, producer and presenter of Cover to Cover.
Happy listening.
It was so great to be back in the recording studio again Barry – and so many thanks to Tim for the opportunity.
